There is no doubt that art plays a powerful role in shaping the atmosphere of a space. At Newbridge Business Centre, our recent renovation has given us the opportunity to thoughtfully enhance our environment—and participating in the Art in the Hubs programme has been a key part of that journey.
We were delighted to be approved two years ago to join this initiative, led by the Contemporary Irish Arts Society (CIAS) in partnership with the Connected Hubs network. Launched in March 2023, the programme—supported by the Western Development Commission and corporate sponsors—aims to bring high-quality art into co-working spaces across Ireland.
By loaning works from the CIAS collection, the initiative helps foster community-curated environments that inspire creativity, connection, and inclusivity—expanding hubs beyond traditional workspaces into vibrant cultural settings.
In March 2026, we were pleased to receive two additional artworks and to welcome members of the CIAS Council to Newbridge Business Centre. Led by Louise Fitzpatrick, Council Secretary, the visit included a tour of Charlotte House and an opportunity to experience firsthand how art enhances the co-working environment.
We were also delighted to welcome local artist Elish Kavanagh, curator of the Pop Up Art Newbridge Collective. Elish has played an important role in supporting Kildare-based artists and enriching our space with local art over the past two years. We are especially pleased that two pieces from local artists displayed in the centre have been purchased to date.
Currently on display at Newbridge Business Centre as part of the Art in the Hubs initiative:
• “Poppy Day” – Joan O’Hanrahan (Oil on Board, 1988)
• “Sitting Nude” – Brian Gallagher (Graphite on Paper)
• “The Speck” – Lucy Moyes (Print)
• “The Grout” – Lucy Moyes (Print)
We look forward to continuing our involvement in this inspiring initiative and to further enhancing our space for the benefit of our community.
